We will have our first Public Ecosystem Round Table! | October 1st, 5pm CET
As you already know: Trust is not only important in our physical world but also in the digital world. And it affects almost everyone of us, so we decided to have a Public Round Table instead of a closed DTF Participant Meeting. This means YOU can join the online event for an exiting session with Prof Heiner Lasi (Ferdinand-Steinbeis-Institut), Michael Jochem (Bosch / Board Member GAIA-X), Nik Scharmann (Bosch Blockchain expert) and Anoop Nannra (AWS Head of Blockchain) on trust related topics. The speakers will give input on the following:
Register now and let's have a look and discuss how data sharing can be trustworthy!

As our world becomes more digitized with smart (and) connected products and services day by day, data privacy, security and trust are immensely important. A digital trust framework to enable these aspects is important and necessary. Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, emphasizes: “Digital trust concerns us all, it is indeed an essential value in democratic societies.” Therefore she stressed the importance of consensus building and norm setting in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things at the launch of the Digital Trust Forum in Berlin. “I was genuinely impressed by the level of ambition that [the Digital Trust Forum Participants] demonstrated in the course of the event and the discussions in an area that concerns us all”, so Gabriel. The forum contributes (e.g. by pilot projects in the fields of hydrogen technologies, AI and connected and automated mobility) significantly to the creation of trust around digital developments in the EU, notably with regard to AI. It is addressing the challenges how international organizations in industry can pool together and find solutions, through the establishment of a trust framework, and what concrete actions can be taken, for example, in relation to governance and certification “in a remarkable way”, the commissioner confirmed.
Further on, she underlined the importance of bringing industrial stakeholders together to help boosting the trustworthiness and security of Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence. Because “trust is a crucial element of a reliable AI and it is a cornerstone of the European Union itself” the Commission has published a whitepaper on Artificial intelligence: “The paper seeks the right balance between an AI, that is a driving force of innovation and an AI that is human centered and ethical desirable.” The Digital Trust Forum (DTF) is today announcing its new Work Group structure. The DTF Work Groups (WGs) are designed to allow DTF participants addressing the key challenges of enabling trust in the following areas:
This month starts with the announcement of the results of our first DTF Steering Committee election. DTF's first Steering Committee is representing a broad spectrum of international organizations and companies, including:
This diverse setup will support DTF's international and open approach. The combined knowledge and experience of these organizations will provide DTF with the required leadership capabilities to execute DTF's vision for enabling trust in smart, connected products. DTF aims to be an open and independent organization. In order to achieve this, it is important that the DTF governance rules are created in a transparent way. A first draft of the DTF governance rules has now been published for review by all DTF participants HERE. These will be reviewed jointly in the next DTF meeting.
Trustworthiness will be the key success factor for the #AIoT. A number of related regulations, trust charters and guidelines have already been released. But how to implement them?
The Digital Trust Forum (DTF) proposes a pragmatic roadmap for aligning regulatory perspectives with the agile and dynamic ways of how AIoT solutions are often created. On Feb 19th, 2020, #DTF has released its initial strategy paper, which outlines the key concepts. Download HERE.
